Neurological treatments
We offer advanced and minimally invasive neurological treatment options, including:
- AVM embolization: This minimally invasive procedure involves the insertion of a catheter into the site of an AVM. Then, a glue-like substance is delivered to eliminate blood flow to the malformation.
- Carotid artery stenting: This minimally invasive procedure can be used to open narrowed carotid arteries. A catheter is inserted and advanced into the carotid artery, which can then be opened and/or stented.
- Cerebral aneurysm coiling: Aneurysm coiling involves the insertion of a catheter to the site of the aneurysm. Tiny wires are then used to fill the aneurysm, cutting off the blood flow to the clot and preventing rupture.
- Computer-navigated cranial and spinal procedures: The specialists in our neuroscience center and orthopedic program work together to treat cranial and spinal conditions using advanced procedures. These procedures offer patients many advantages, such as reduced downtime and smaller incisions.
- Intravenous tissue plasminogen activator (tPA): This is a drug that can be injected into the bloodstream to dissolve the blood clot causing a stroke.
- Nonsurgical treatment: Some neurological and spinal conditions may be treated with medicine and/or physical therapy and rehabilitation.
- Non-adhesive liquid application: This is a liquid plastic polymer that is inserted into an aneurysm to fill the space. It then hardens, cutting off the blood flow to prevent rupture of the aneurysm.
- Shunt insertions: Shunts can be used to remove the pressure on the brain caused by excess fluids. In this procedure, a physician places a narrow piece of tubing into the fluid-filled ventricle, which allows the fluid to pass into another area of the body.

Our Neurointervention Suite
Our Neurointervention Suite's biplane angiography equipment allows for advanced neurovascular imaging. With this technology, we can capture 3D neurovascular images to diagnose neurological conditions, such as cerebral aneurysms, strokes and vascular malformations. This equipment also allows us to reduce procedure time and radiation exposure.
Cerebral aneurysm care
An aneurysm is a widening or ballooning of an artery. When this occurs in the brain, it is called a cerebral aneurysm. Our interventional neuroradiologists work to reduce the growth of aneurysms before they burst or leak. First, a cerebral angiogram is performed to check for aneurysms. If an aneurysm is detected, the physician may proceed with one of two minimally invasive options: cerebral aneurysm coiling or non-adhesive liquid application.
Stroke care
Our emergency physicians and neurological care specialists work together to deliver prompt, lifesaving stroke treatment in our emergency room (ER). Our commitment to excellent stroke care has earned our hospital recognition as a Comprehensive Stroke Center by both the American Health Care Association and DNV GL Healthcare.
Teleneurology services for stroke
To improve patient access to neurology expertise, we offer remote telemedicine services. Our teleneurology program allows our physicians to assist patients within minutes after stroke symptoms occur.
