About HCA Florida Ocala Hospital Wound Care Center
Wound care involves medical intervention to heal a wound after injury. Specialized treatment is provided for wounds that are non-healing or refuse to heal on their own. It is vital to learn how to properly dress and care for wounds to promote optimal healing.
Benefits of our outpatient center
In addition to offering inpatient care at both HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital, we offer comprehensive outpatient care through our wound care center. Patients using our outpatient treatment options typically do so on a supplementary basis, complementing already established treatment plans through their physician.
Benefits of treatment at the our center include:
- Earlier recovery
- Improved limb salvage in severe wounds
- Prevention of prolonged and/or permanent disability
- Shorter hospitalization time
Additionally, treatment at our facility means you will be assessed and diagnosed by an expert team that includes:
- Certified wound specialists recognized by the Board of the American Academy of Wound Management
- Nurses trained in chronic wound care
- Physicians with advanced training in wound management
Wound care services
We treat chronic wounds with advanced treatments, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, an established technology that uses a dedicated chamber for patients to inhale pure, 100 percent oxygen, allowing for 20 to 30 more times the normal amount of oxygen to be carried to your body's tissues and heal wounds faster.
We treat a range of chronic wound conditions, including:
- Diabetic ulcers
- Nonhealing surgical wounds
- Pressure ulcers
- Various traumatic wounds
- Venous stasis ulcers
- Wounds caused by collagen and peripheral vascular diseases
