HCA Florida Englewood Hospital has once again earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, marking its 23rd “A” rating across 29 grading cycles. The national recognition reflects the hospital’s sustained commitment to patient safety and high-quality care.

The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog, assigns letter grades to general hospitals nationwide based on evidence-based measures of medical errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.

“This achievement is a direct reflection of the dedication and vigilance of our colleagues across every department,” said Kelly Lindsay, CEO of HCA Florida Englewood Hospital. “Patient safety is not just a priority, it is a responsibility we carry in every interaction, every process and every decision. Earning our 23rd ‘A’ grade underscores our unwavering commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care to every patient we serve.”

“An ‘A’ Grade is a strong sign that Englewood Hospital is deeply committed to protecting patients from harm,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We commend the leadership, board, clinicians, staff and volunteers for the role each played in earning this distinction.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program focused exclusively on preventable medical errors, injuries and infections that can lead to harm or even death. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public, with grades updated twice annually in the fall and spring.
