When Tina began experiencing abdominal pain, she made an appointment with her doctor to see what was going on. Tina’s doctor felt a mass and sent her to get an MRI so they could get additional information about what the problem was. During this same time, the pain became worse and Tina came down with a fever. It was at this point she visited an emergency room for treatment.

Tina found out that she was suffering from diverticulitis in addition to having a uterine fibroid. Tina was scheduled for surgery so the fibroid could be addressed.

After discussing options and risks with her Gynecologist, Tina chose a minimally invasive robotic hysterectomy procedure under general anesthesia at Ocala Hospital.

“While I was extremely apprehensive prior to surgery, from the minute I checked in, the staff at Ocala Health was incredible.” Tina says that while no one wants to go through surgery, her experience was wonderful because of the nurses and staff.

“From start to finish, everything was wonderful. The staff not only cared for me, but they made my family feel good as well.” Tina has returned to her daily activities of taking care of animals on her farm and spending time outside while kayaking and horseback riding.
