HCA Florida Healthcare celebrates topping off for HCA Florida Auburndale Emergency
Winter Haven, FL — HCA Florida Healthcare recently celebrated a major milestone in the construction of its new HCA Florida Auburndale Emergency facility with a topping-off ceremony, marking the completion of the structure’s highest point.
The event last month brought together local leaders, including Dorothea Taylor Bogert, Mayor of Auburndale; Nathaniel J. Birdsong, Jr., Mayor of Winter Haven; and Betsy Cleveland, President and CEO of the Greater Winter Haven Chamber of Commerce, along with other community stakeholders, healthcare professionals, and project partners to commemorate this significant step forward in expanding emergency care access in the region.
“We are proud to celebrate this milestone alongside our community leaders and partners, signifying the strength of community collaboration as well as HCA Florida Healthcare’s continued investment in expanding access to emergency care across the state,” said Cullen Brown, chief executive officer of HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital. “HCA Florida Auburndale Emergency will deliver high quality, around-the-clock emergency care by board certified physicians right where Polk County families live and work.”
Located on 1320 Daniels Rd, Winter Haven, the 11,570 square-foot, $15 million ER is slated to open in late December 2025. The facility will provide 24/7 full-service emergency care to residents of Auburndale, Winter Haven, and surrounding Polk County communities.
The freestanding emergency room will be staffed with board certified emergency medicine physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals providing specialized emergency care for patients of all ages, including children. The facility will include 11 private emergency patient care rooms, a trauma/cardiopulmonary resuscitation room, CT scan, digital X-ray and ultrasound services and an on-site laboratory.
Once operational, the ER is expected to employ approximately 35 full-time healthcare professionals, enhancing local job growth and reinforcing HCA Florida Healthcare’s commitment to serving the healthcare needs of the growing Polk County population.
