Heart attack symptoms

When experiencing symptoms of a heart attack, it is important to take them seriously. Do not wait to seek help if you are experiencing the warning signs. Receiving care within the first two hours of a heart event can minimize damage and improve outcomes.

The signs of a heart attack include:

  • Chest discomfort
  • Discomfort in other areas of the upper body: Arms, shoulder, back, jaw, neck, stomach.
  • Shortness of breath
  • Other signs:
    • Breaking out in cold sweats
    • Nausea and vomiting
    • Rapid or irregular heart beat
    • Dizziness, lightheadedness

Symptoms may vary between men and women. If you suspect you are having a heart attack, call 911 immediately.

Electrophysiology and arrhythmia program

Our electrophysiologists provide compassionate care for heart rhythm disorders and ectopy’s including PVC’s, atrial fibrillation (AFib), atrial flutters and ventricular tachycardias. Potential treatment options include antiarrhythmics, catheter ablations, and device implants such as pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs).

Structural and interventional cardiology

We offer catheter-based procedures for valvular disorders and other structural heart conditions. Our experts specialize in the following:

  • Coronary artery interventions including ballooning, stenting, atherectomy, intravascular lithotripsy
