When you choose us for your childbirth experience, you will receive support throughout your pregnancy.
Family-centered childbirth services
We encourage the involvement of family and friends in the birth process. We also provide accommodations for your partner or a loved one to be with you 24 hours a day — during labor and delivery and throughout your hospital stay.
Our physicians, nurses and midwives come to the patient bringing any necessary equipment along with them including labor support tools that improve comfort for mom during labor. These tools include items such as a birthing ball, a peanut ball for positioning, a CUB support stool, positioning support for epidural placement if requested, and delivery supplies needed to support mom and baby. At HCA Florida West Hospital Labor and Delivery, we also have a sound machine that we bring into the room for new moms who need some relaxation.
After birth, your baby will stay with you in your room. Grandparents, other family members and friends are invited to visit with you and your baby as often as you'd like.
Patient-focused maternity suites
It's important to have the people you want and need close by, but we also understand the importance of privacy. We've put an end to the game of "musical doors" where you're continually moved from labor room, to delivery room, to recovery room. Instead, the maternity suites at The Family Birthplace are designed so that most mothers can labor, deliver and recover in the same birthing suite throughout their entire hospital stay. Our physicians, nurses and midwives will come to you, bringing any necessary equipment along with them.
This system is referred to as LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum) care, and ensures you and your family have optimal privacy to share this very personal, intimate time together.
