Imaging services

Imaging exams allow radiologists (imaging specialists) and physicians to view structures and activity within the body. This is vital for diagnosis but also for treatment, to ensure your care plan is working as it should.

Diagnostic medical imaging in Plantation, Florida

Our imaging center offers a full spectrum of medical imaging services.

Diagnostic medical imaging is one of the first steps our physicians take to determine the root cause of pain, injuries or dysfunction before devising an individualized plan for your treatment and care. As a facility accredited by the American College of Radiology, the radiologists and technologists at our hospital are committed to making your experience quick, informative and positive.

Our medical imaging services

We offer a range of imaging services and modalities, including:

Biplane imaging

Biplane imaging uses highly advanced technology to show how blood is flowing through your blood vessels. It helps physicians quickly see the location of any potential blockages or aneurysms.

The neurointerventional biplane suite at our hospital is used by our neurological specialists to treat conditions affecting the brain, heart and blood vessels.

Computerized tomography (CT) scan

CT scans consist of a series of detailed X-rays to produce a cross-sectional 3D image of soft-tissue structures inside the body. CT scans are instrumental in diagnosing cancer, cardiovascular disease, infections and injuries caused by trauma.

Available 24/7 in our facility, CT scans offer extremely accurate results that allow swift diagnosis and treatment.

Interventional radiology

Interventional radiologists use a medical imaging modality (such as a CT scan or ultrasound) to help them perform a minimally invasive surgical procedure that once required open surgery.

This advanced approach can be used to treat a wide range of conditions, including varicose veins, uterine fibroids, carpal tunnel syndrome and tumors.

Interventional radiology typically involves shorter recovery times and involves less risk and pain than an open surgery.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)

An MRI is used by radiologists to visualize highly detailed internal structures. It uses a magnetic field to produce high-quality images in multiple planes. Unlike X-rays, MRIs are noninvasive imaging tools which do not use radiation.

MRIs are commonly ordered to examine the brain, head, pelvis, abdomen, spine, bones and joints. They help physicians diagnose a range of health conditions and internal injuries. MRIs are also used to determine if prescribed medications or treatments are working properly.

We also use advanced MRI software for cardiac and rectal screenings.

Mammograms

Mammography uses low-dose X-ray imaging to examine your breasts. Mammograms can be used to detect early symptoms of breast cancer and ensure optimal breast health.

Through mammography, including 3D mammography, and other breast imaging services, our doctors can diagnose and treat breast tissue anomalies, such as tumors and other breast diseases.

Nuclear medicine

Nuclear medicine uses small amounts of radioactive substances to pinpoint molecular activity within the body. Nuclear medicine exams include bone scans, gastric emptying times, thyroid scans, hepatobiliary scans, gastrointestinal bleed studies and cardiac single-photon emission CT (SPECT) scanning.

Nuclear medicine may be used to diagnose heart disease, gastrointestinal conditions, bone abnormalities and other diseases.

Ultrasound

Noninvasive ultrasounds use high-frequency sound waves to create video images of soft tissue areas of the body. This includes the cardiovascular, reproductive, gastrointestinal and digestive organs. Ultrasound imaging also plays a pivotal role in the screening and follow-up of vascular disease.

An ultrasound is painless, cost-effective and typically takes 15 to 30 minutes to perform.

X-ray

Diagnostic X-rays use electromagnetic energy beams to produce images. Our doctors analyze these images to diagnose bone injuries, tumors, infections and arthritis.

Outpatient diagnostic X-rays are scheduled from 7:00am - 7:00pm, seven days a week.

We also offer fluoroscopy, which is a special type of X-ray that provides moving images of the part of the body being examined. This is viewed in real time, allowing your doctors to see it as if watching a film.
