HCA Florida Citrus Hospital earns a 'B' Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group
HCA Florida Citrus Hospital earned a “B” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country using evidence-based measures of patient safety focused exclusively on errors, accidents, injuries and infections.
“At HCA Florida Citrus Hospital, patient safety is at the heart of everything we do. This ‘B’ grade reflects the dedication and hard work of our entire team - physicians, nurses, and support staff - who strive every day to provide safe, high-quality care to our community,” said Citrus Hospital CEO Lisa Nummi. “While we are proud of this recognition, we know that patient safety is a continuous journey. We remain committed to advancing best practices, investing in innovative solutions, and working together to achieve even higher standards. Our goal is simple: to ensure every patient who walks through our doors receives care they can trust and feel confident in.”
“Earning a ‘B’ Hospital Safety Grade is a testament to the commitment of everyone at HCA Florida Citrus Hospital - from leadership to frontline caregivers - working together to put patients first,” said Missy Danforth, Senior Vice President of Health Care Ratings at The Leapfrog Group. “Citrus Hospital is showing that meaningful improvement is possible.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
