Trauma center
Trauma centers provide highly-trained physicians, specialists, critical care nurses and support staff who are available around the clock to care for your most serious healthcare needs. Trauma centers often provide burn care for individuals suffering from minor to severe burns.

Pediatric trauma care
For children, we have a dedicated pediatric ER adjacent to our main ER. Our pediatric ER is staffed by physicians who are board-certified in pediatric emergency medicine. This means whenever you bring your child to our trauma center, we have pediatric-trained physicians ready to meet the unique needs of your child.
Trauma surgery
We have two dedicated trauma operating rooms (ORs), providing our surgeons rapid access to ORs equipped for trauma surgeries. We also have computerized tomography scanners right in the ER, with ready access to blood products through our blood bank.
Trauma healing and rehabilitation
Our rehabilitation therapists help patients reach their full potential after experiencing a medical trauma. As part of that, we offer inpatient and outpatient physical therapy and rehabilitation services. Our inpatient rehabilitation center, Rehabilitation Institute of North Florida, is the only acute care rehabilitation facility of its kind in the area. Here, we help patients restore function and regain mobility following a traumatic event.
Public education and awareness
We take a leadership role in trauma prevention. This includes offering public education and continuing education of trauma team members as we participate in research and quality assessment initiatives.
