Breast cancer screening
According to Sarah Cannon, the Cancer Institute of HCA Healthcare, women 40 years old and older should receive annual screening mammograms. Regular breast health screenings are a vital component of women's care, so breast cancer can be detected early when it is most treatable.
The Florida Breast Center at our hospital offers digital screening mammograms, which offer clearer images and a decreased need for retakes. Mammography services take place in The Women's Center.
If breast cancer or another form of breast disease is identified, we offer full-service treatment to restore your health.

We also offer gynecologic cancer care if you are diagnosed with cervical, ovarian, endometrial, vaginal, vulvar or uterine cancer.
Gynecologic surgery
The Women's Center offers a gynecologic surgery program to care for conditions affecting the female reproductive system and urinary tract. Same-day surgery is an option for many of gynecologic procedures.
Our highly trained surgeons use advanced equipment to perform laser and laparoscopic procedures. Robotic surgery, a type of minimally invasive surgery, is also used to perform hysterectomies (removal of the uterus).
Pregnancy and childbirth care
Our hospital's skilled physicians and childbirth specialists are here for you throughout your pregnancy. Our prenatal care program offers parent education classes to prepare parents for childbirth and caring for their newborn. We also have a maternal-fetal medicine specialist on-site who provides dedicated care for women experiencing high-risk pregnancies.
Women who deliver their babies at The Women's Center can feel comfortable knowing they are surrounded by nurses, physicians and nurse midwives with extensive experience in labor and delivery. Following delivery, new mothers have access to our lactation consultants for breastfeeding support.
If your child should require additional care following birth, we will care for them in our on-site Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Choosing a women's care provider
Choosing an OB/GYN is an important decision to make in regards to your health. The physician you choose should be someone that listens to your concerns and has the experience to help you through challenging times.
Tips for selecting an OB/GYN
An OB/GYN can assist with a variety conditions affecting women's reproductive and pelvic health, which is why many women maintain a partnership with their OB/GYNs through pregnancy, childbirth and beyond. Because the relationship is often long-term, it's important to choose a physician with whom you are comfortable.
We recommend you begin searching for an OB/GYN while you are healthy. This ensures a thorough and unhurried decision-making process. Ask your friends, co-workers and other health providers for their recommendations. Make sure your reason for choosing an OB/GYN matches your specialized needs.
