Lehigh Acres, FL — HCA Florida Lehigh Hospital has earned a “B” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country using evidence-based measures of patient safety focused exclusively on errors, accidents, injuries and infections.

“Earning a ‘B’ from The Leapfrog Group is a meaningful recognition of our team’s commitment to patient safety and quality care. At HCA Florida Lehigh Hospital, we are dedicated to creating a culture of continuous improvement and accountability, ensuring that every patient receives safe, compassionate, and high-quality care. We are also nationally recognized with the Healthgrades 2026 Patient Safety Excellence Award for the eighth consecutive year, naming us Among the Top 10% in the Nation for Patient Safety for 8 Years in a Row (2019-2026). We are proud of these achievements and remain focused on advancing our performance for the community we serve,” said Paige Laughlin, CEO of HCA Florida Lehigh Hospital.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
