'A' grade earned for patient safety from Leapfrog at HCA Florida Englewood Hospital

HCA Florida Englewood Hospital has earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog that evaluates hospitals on their commitment to patient safety. This marks the hospital’s 22nd “A” grade across 28 grading cycles over the past 13 years.

“‘A’ grades are a rare and meaningful achievement,” said Kelly Lindsay, chief executive officer of HCA Florida Englewood Hospital. “It reflects the dedication of our entire team, from clinical staff to support services, who work tirelessly to deliver safe, high-quality care. This recognition affirms our culture of safety and our commitment to continuous improvement. Patients who come to Englewood Hospital can expect excellence, and this grade validates the trust our community places in us.”

Leapfrog assigns an A, B, C, D or F grade to general hospitals across the country using evidence-based measures of patient safety focused exclusively on errors, accidents, injuries and infections. Grades are issued twice annually and reflect performance on evidence-based safety measures.
