St. Petersburg, FL — HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital proudly marked a significant advancement in patient care with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, May 6, celebrating the installation of a new, state-of-the-art CT scanner.

The upgraded system features advanced imaging technology designed to enhance diagnostic accuracy and improve the overall patient experience. With AI-driven image quality, a larger bore and a higher weight capacity, the new CT scanner allows for more efficient and comfortable scanning for a broader range of patients.

These enhancements also expand the hospital’s capabilities in cardiac imaging, including Coronary CT Angiography (CCTA) and calcium scoring. This advancement supports earlier detection and more precise evaluation of cardiovascular conditions, helping clinicians deliver timely, high-quality care.

“This investment reflects our continued commitment to bringing innovative technology to our community,” said Jessica Frye, diagnostic imaging manager, HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital. “By expanding our imaging capabilities, we are better equipped to serve our patients with faster, more accurate diagnostics.”

The ribbon cutting ceremony brought together hospital leadership, staff and community members to celebrate this important milestone.
