Ocala, FL — HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital announced today the donation of personal hygiene products to Interfaith Emergency Services in Ocala. Maintaining one’s personal hygiene is one of the best ways to protect against preventable illnesses and to slow the spread of diseases.

“HCA Florida Healthcare values Interfaith Emergency Services’ commitment to serving the needs of our less fortunate neighbors in Ocala and throughout Marion County,” said Alan Keesee, chief executive officer of HCA Florida Ocala Hospital. “HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital are honored to assist Interfaith in this mission to care for those in need and to ensure they have an adequate supply of essential hygiene products during hurricane season.”

The donation assists Interfaith in providing its clients with items to promote their health and welfare during the summer months, especially with the 2025 hurricane season underway. “Our staff at Interfaith is so grateful for our partnership with HCA Florida Healthcare. They really show up in meaningful ways to help us meet the needs of our clients,” said Karla Greenway, chief executive officer of Interfaith Emergency Services. “Going into hurricane season with a full inventory of hygiene items on hand is such a relief. Thank you to all of the staff and leadership at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital!”

In January, the hospitals donated $10,000 for Interfaith’s food bank, and in April, 55 hospital colleagues and volunteers packed backpacks for the Food 4 Kids program, and sorted clothing for Interfaith’s thrift store, personal hygiene items for clients, and food at Interfaith’s distribution center.

As Florida's leading healthcare network, HCA Florida Healthcare is committed to creating healthier tomorrows for communities across the state by volunteering our time, making charitable donations and partnering with other organizations. In 2024, HCA Florida Healthcare colleagues from 650 facilities volunteered more than 38,000 hours and committed nearly $1.2 million to community partner organizations in the Sunshine State.
