Hudson, FL —  HCA Florida Healthcare is proud to announce a $10,000 donation to The Volunteer Way, a nonprofit organization that has been providing free food to individuals and families in need for more than 30 years. This contribution comes from HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital, HCA Florida Trinity Hospital and the HCA Florida Healthcare West Florida Division, reinforcing their shared commitment to supporting the communities they serve.

In addition to the monetary donation, both hospitals collected 1,251 pounds of food, which equals more than 1,000 meals for local families. These efforts will help The Volunteer Way continue its mission of feeding Pasco County residents who face food insecurity.

About The Volunteer Way:

  • Serves up to 29,000 people every month in Pasco County
  • Provides 167 seniors with monthly “brown bag” deliveries, which include groceries and even pet food to ensure no one – human or furry friend – is left behind.
  • Offers fresh, healthy options through its massive edible garden, where families can choose fruits, vegetables, and even farm-fresh eggs from chickens.
  • Producers local honey from its own beehives, adding a sweet touch to its commitment to nutrition and sustainability.

Pasco County continues to face significant food insecurity, with thousands of families relying on community support to meet basic needs. Volunteer Way’s innovative programs and partnerships help bridge that gap and provide hope during the holiday season and beyond.

“At HCA Florida Healthcare, we believe in caring for our community both inside and outside the hospital walls, “said Sally Seymour, CEO of HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital. “Supporting The Volunteer Way allows us to make a meaningful impact for families who need it most.”
