March ‘Thank a Teacher’ award given by Ocala Hospital, West Marion Hospital
HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital, with the Public Education Foundation of Marion County (PEFMC), are delighted to announce Cori Feo of Osceola Middle School in Ocala as the latest recipient of the “Thank a Teacher” award.
HCA Florida Ocala Hospital Chief Executive Officer Alan Keesee presented the award to Feo during an event at the school on April 23. Also in attendance were Marion County School Board Vice Chairwoman Lori Conrad and other representatives of the school district, the foundation, and school faculty.
Feo teaches digital information technology and computer applications at Osceola Middle School.
“The ‘Thank a Teacher’ program spotlights educators in our community who make sincere and meaningful classroom connections that inspire students to better themselves,” said Keesee. “Cori obviously instills in her students the desire to learn and equip themselves with necessary skills in our tech-driven world, and that’s why we’re proud to recognize her with this award.”
Feo was nominated by one of her students. “Mrs. Feo helped me learn about computers and how to touch-type properly. She is very nice and helpful when things get difficult,” the nomination said. “Even though she isn’t my elective teacher anymore, she is still my favorite teacher that I have had this year, and I think she is awesome.”
“Cori’s nomination was extra special because it came from a student, and that is a testament of the positive impact she makes in the classroom,” said Meghan Magamoll, executive director of the Public Education Foundation of Marion County. “We truly appreciate this partnership with HCA Florida Healthcare to bring attention to teachers like Cori who engage, guide and mentor students to reach a higher level.”
HCA Florida Ocala Hospital, HCA Florida West Marion Hospital, and the PEFMC present the “Thank a Teacher” award for each month of the 2025-26 school year. Winning educators are nominated by students, families, or staff members of Marion County Public Schools who call attention to the teachers’ devotion to education and the overall positive impact they have on their students and school communities.
