Now open - HCA Florida Venice Emergency
HCA Florida Venice Doctors Emergency is now open and treating patients. The $16.3 million emergency room is a department of HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital. It was built to bring needed emergency care close to the island of Venice and along US 41 after the closure of ShorePoint Health Venice in 2022.
“This new, state-of-the-art ER will be staffed with board-certified emergency medicine physicians and nurses, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, just like an emergency room that is housed within the walls of a hospital. Physicians and nurses will treat a range of general and specific conditions, including infections, chest pain and broken bones, and will offer a number of diagnostic services on site,” said Nicholas Fusco, D.O., Medical Director of Emergency Services at HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital.
Designed to meet the community’s growing healthcare needs, this emergency room features:
- 11 private treatment rooms
- Digital diagnostic equipment, including CT, ultrasound and X-ray machines
- On-site laboratory
- Telemedicine technology with a specific focus on stroke care
- Most of the staff are longtime Venice residents
“With this opening of this new emergency room, we are expanding access and bringing quality care closer to home for patients in and around Venice. While treatments have advanced, our commitment to providing the same personal approach to care remains unchanged since our founding in 1967,” said Joe Rudisill, CEO of HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital.
