Ocala, FL – HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital announced today they are among America’s 250 Best Hospitals for 2025, according to new research released by Healthgrades, the No. 1 online site Americans use when searching for a doctor or hospital. The achievement reflects the hospitals’ unwavering commitment to exceptional patient care and puts the facilities in the top 5% of hospitals nationwide for overall clinical performance.
This is the third year in a row the hospitals have been included among Healthgrades’ annual list of America’s Best Hospitals. Additionally, HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital received several other recent recognitions from Healthgrades, including being among the nation’s 50 best hospitals for vascular surgery and surgical care and among the 100 best hospitals in the nation for orthopedic surgery, joint replacement, spine surgery and prostate surgeries by Healthgrades.
“We are proud to be the only hospital system in Marion County to receive this top award,” said Alan Keesee, chief executive officer of HCA Florida Ocala Hospital. “This is our third consecutive year named ‘America’s Best Hospitals’ and we thank our team for their dedication to patient experience and safety with every patient in every encounter. Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.”
The Healthgrades recognitions received by HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital are based exclusively on what matters most: patient outcomes. To determine the top hospitals for 2025, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for over 30 of the most common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide. Healthgrades’ annual analysis revealed significant performance gaps between the nation’s highest- and lowest-achieving hospitals, making it increasingly important to seek care at a top-rated facility. In fact, from 2021-2023, if all hospitals, as a group, had performed similarly to America’s 250 Best, on average, 174,081 lives could potentially have been saved. * In total, 49 HCA Healthcare Hospitals nationwide were named to Healthgrades’ annual list of America’s Best Hospitals.
“America’s 250 Best Hospitals, including HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital, are elevating the standard for quality care nationwide,” said Brad Bowman, MD, chief medical officer and head of data science at Healthgrades. “Healthgrades commends HCA Florida Ocala Hospital and HCA Florida West Marion Hospital for their ongoing leadership and commitment to providing the best possible care for all patients in North Central Florida.”
