HCA Florida Trinity Hospital breaks ground on Sunlake Emergency
HCA Florida Trinity Hospital, alongside Pasco County officials and community partners, held a ceremonial groundbreaking for its newest facility: HCA Florida Sunlake Emergency. Located at the southeast corner of SR 54 and Sunlake Boulevard, the new freestanding emergency department will provide 24/7 emergency care, advanced diagnostic technology and seamless access to the HCA Florida Healthcare network — including no-cost transfers to HCA Florida Healthcare hospitals when inpatient care is needed.
The 11,000-square-foot, full-service emergency department will be open around the clock to serve patients of all ages. Last year alone, HCA Florida Trinity Hospital provided emergency care to more than 74,000 patients. This new facility will expand convenient access to high-quality emergency services for residents in and around the Sunlake Boulevard area.
Sunlake Emergency will feature private exam rooms, a fully equipped trauma room, ambulance access and a full suite of onsite services including laboratory testing, X-rays, CT scans and ultrasound imaging.
Construction on the $15 million facility is expected to begin later this summer, with an anticipated opening in early 2026. This expansion reflects HCA Florida Trinity Hospital’s ongoing commitment to meeting the healthcare needs of Pasco County’s rapidly growing population.
“Pasco County is one of the fastest-growing counties in the United States, and opening our fourth freestanding emergency room allows us to better serve the healthcare needs of our community,” said Mike Irvin, CEO of HCA Florida Trinity Hospital. “Sunlake Emergency will deliver high-level emergency care with board-certified physicians and specially trained nurses.”
