Eric Prather, 58 was born and raised in Tallahassee. His life has not always been easy and in the last few years his health has suffered. He came to our ER with an infection that had gone into the bone and after several surgeries, he ended up having his left leg amputated below the knee. He stayed in our inpatient rehabilitation center twice. Eric says, “I had such a comfortable stay at the rehab center, the staff and the physician are so caring and polite. The physical therapy team was absolutely excellent! I just knew I was going to be helped and they gave me peace of mind as I transitioned into my new life.”

He says that he received a lot more than just physical therapy. “Gail, the caseworker was amazing, she helped me get a power wheelchair and helped me find a permanent home at a close by assisted living facility. It was incredible — they offered more than just physical therapy but also mental therapy. They listened, they understood and I do believe they saved my life.”
